We recently stayed in Nusa Lembongan for a week, and ate at many locations, the 5 restaurants below deserve a special mention.
Nicks Place Specialty Coffee & Ribs
On one of the busiest roads in Nusa Lembongan you will find this little gem. Nick learnt how to make ribs from an American chef in a restaurant in Kuta. So of course we had to try the famous Rack of Ribs. And I was very impressed. Not only were the ribs full of flavour with the meat falling off the bone.
The BBQ in which they were cooked was exceptionally clean, and on full display, it was nice to see the food being cooked. There was also a lovely outdoor garden area you could sit in, this would be perfect for evenings.
Although very full after my ribs I had read that the affogato here was worth trying, I was a little dubious over the ginger ice cream, but the two were paired perfectly together, I would highly recommend saving room for this.
A half rack was Rp115 and a whole rack was Rp200k, not sure what the Affogato was, so the meal bordering on expensive for Nusa Lembongan, but well worth the money.

Oishii Bar & Grill Lembongan or Warung Sari Merta
This place goes under 2 names, but is the same place. I was surprised to see Japanese restaurant on the island, and then surprised again at the amount of good reviews about the place. So we had to try it out, and I am so glad we did.
We went with a couple of friends we met, so we were able to try a large amount of dishes, including Chicken Katsu Roll Rp75k, Pork Belly Roll Rp60k, Chicken Teriyaki Fried Roll Rp78k and Deep Fried Chicken Wings 48k.
All the sushi was cooked and seasoned to perfection, some of the best sushi I have ever eaten. My favourite was the Chicken Teriyaki Fried Roll, I think because it was a little twist on a classic.
The food didn’t come out all at once, but we kind of liked that, it allowed us to pick at each meal and enjoy the freshness before the next portion came along.
It is advisable to book, there isn’t a huge number of tables, and it was pretty full the whole time we were there.

So this is a little bit of a funny story, I had read rave reviews about a restaurant and thought on our last night out I would surprise my husband and take him to an amazing restaurant over looking the ocean, beautiful sunset, what could be more romantic. I gave the hotel the contact details of the restaurant and asked them to make sure we could get a table overlooking the water.
We had enjoyed a relaxing afternoon with a few cocktails, and then went to meet our ride, the driver asked how we had heard about his restaurant and we said trip advisor, and it had so many wonderful reviews we had to check it out. He seemed very proud of the compliment.
We went on about a 15 minute journey to get to the restaurant, and when we arrived I realised I had made a mistake, the place I’d booked was at another hotel, no beach or sunset in site, my husband thought this was hilarious and could not stop laughing.
We obviously couldn’t leave, after they had just driven us to their restaurant, true to their word we had a table overlooking the water (the hotel swimming pool) and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The meal was delicious, and full of fits of laughter from both of us. Although there is no sunset view, I would recommend popping by if you are in the area.

We walked here from our hotel late one evening, we stopped for a couple of drinks and ended up staying for dinner. It’s a laid back restaurant, overlooking the ocean, chilled music playing in the background, great place to sit and relax.
We ordered some garlic bread Rp49k, Mi Goreng Rp47k, and Green Curry with Rice Rp91k, my favourite was the Mi Goreng.
I would suggest getting here before sunset as I imagine it would be quite a pretty spot to watch the sun go down.

Mamma Mia’s Bar and Grill
We saw this place on our way to Yellow Bridge, and so stopped by on our way back. It has a great view overlooking the ocean to Nusa Cenigan.
We had fried calamari, a pizza and a couple of drinks, wood fired pizza was made fresh with quality ingredients, and the calamari, was hot and crunchy with lots of flavour.
Staff were very friendly, and offered to drop us back at our hotel, although I don’t have the receipt for pricing I don’t remember this place being particularly expensive.
